The OSSD Diploma

One diploma. Recognized worldwide.

Through our partnership with Blyth Academy Online, every student graduates with a fully accredited Ontario Secondary School Diploma — one of the world’s most widely accepted high school credentials.

📚 Comprehensive coursework

30 credits over 4 years: 18 compulsory credits in English, Math, Science, Social Studies, and Arts — plus 12 optional credits tailored to each student's interests. Access to over 160 courses.

🎓 University competency built in

Students develop research writing, critical analysis, and collaborative problem-solving. The OSSD evaluates 70% coursework + 30% final exam — giving universities a full picture, not just one test score.

🌐 Initial curriculum pathway

Grades 9 & 10 build a strong foundation in math, science, and business. In Grades 11 & 12 students select electives or dive into advanced university-level courses.

How We Teach

Blended learning, real support

Our quadmester schedule combines in-person teaching with Blyth Academy Online’s platform — giving students depth, flexibility, and multiple layers of support.

Students in science lab
Learning that goes beyond the textbook
Hands-on science, real lab work, and critical thinking from Grade 9
📅
Quadmester schedule
4 equal 10-week terms. Students take 2 courses per quadmester for deeper focus before moving on.
Note: Grade 9 and 10 math and science will be run over a half year (two quadmesters). This will allow a gradual transition into the new timeline in courses which can sometimes be more difficult for students.
🧑‍🏫
Blended & in-person
8 teacher-led courses per grade on campuscore OSSD courses plus popular electives. Students may also take asynchronous online courses through Blyth Academy Online.
💬
Dedicated teacher support for online courses
A Toronto-based Blyth teacher marks all online assignments, holds weekly office sessions, and is available daily by email. Parents track progress through the online portal.
🗣️
Instruction language
All courses taught in English. Spanish acquisition offered to all students — may count at least partially towards the 30 OSSD credits.
